One of the most frequently asked questions at the Pocatello Women’s Health Clinic is:

How do I know what services are fully covered by my health insurance without incurring any additional costs?

“Health insurance policies vary widely depending on providers, policies and the individual,” explains Jamie Burkman, coding & billing administrator. “But all marketplace plans, as well as many others, must cover a list of preventative services for women without charging an additional co-pay or co-insurance.”

Many are surprised to discover items such as breast cancer, cervical cancer, and osteoporosis screenings are fully covered at no additional charge.

“We see women every day who’ve put off mammograms, HPV tests, even domestic violence counseling because they thought they couldn’t afford it,” says Burkman, “and it’s been covered under their plan the whole time!”

We encourage everyone to dust off your medical policy and find out how many health benefits you and your family have been missing out on.

For a full list of covered benefits, speak with your healthcare or insurance provider.
